PM Modi Slams Mahagathbandhan as ‘Lathbandhan’ in Fiery Address to BJP Workers: Jungle Raj Must Be Stopped from Returning
Modi emphasized preventing the resurgence of “Jungle Raj” – the infamous era of lawlessness under previous RJD-led governments – and highlighted the NDA’s track record of stability and development
Patna, October 23, 2025 – In a virtual address to BJP workers across Bihar under the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’ program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unleashed a scathing attack on the opposition Mahagathbandhan, dubbing it not an alliance but a “Lathbandhan” – a coalition of sticks symbolizing violence and chaos. Urging party cadres to intensify grassroots outreach, Modi emphasized preventing the resurgence of “Jungle Raj” – the infamous era of lawlessness under previous RJD-led governments – and highlighted the NDA’s track record of stability and development.
Speaking amid the escalating Bihar Assembly Election 2025 campaign, PM Modi declared, “We have to stop Jungle Raj from coming back in Bihar. This is not an alliance; people call it Lathbandhan.” He credited the NDA’s governance with accelerating Bihar’s progress, stating, “By removing Jungle Raj, today the people of Bihar, when there is stability, development happens fast. This is the strength of Bihar’s NDA government, and that is why every youth of Bihar is enthusiastically saying, ‘Bihar has caught speed, NDA government again.'”
Modi underscored the transformative power of the voter’s mandate, linking it to national achievements like the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Operation Sindoor, and the country’s push towards eradicating Naxalism. “This entire strength is of 140 crore countrymen and this entire strength is of one vote of the voter. That same vote has created a situation today where Ram temple has been built… So this is the power of the vote,” he said, drawing parallels to Bihar’s need for vigilant democracy. “A thief faces difficulty in stealing in the light. He goes to steal secretly with a lantern, so it is very necessary to save Bihar. The youth of Bihar is now looking towards the future.”
Directing workers to adopt a booth-level strategy, the Prime Minister instructed them to carry voter lists door-to-door, meet families, and motivate turnout. “Today in Bihar, there is not Jungle Raj but the rule of public trust,” he asserted, calling for the expansion of government schemes to every eligible household. Modi specifically highlighted women’s empowerment initiatives, noting that over 1.2 crore sisters in Bihar have received Rs 10,000 deposits in their bank accounts to start businesses. “During Jungle Raj, scams used to happen. Our government guarantees development. They had imprisoned the daughters of Bihar within four walls. Therefore, it is necessary to keep them away from power.”
He directed cadres to compile lists of women yet to benefit from the Chief Minister Employment Scheme, assuring, “Assure them that on November 14, when the government is formed again, their name will be added to the list of beneficiaries. After coming to power on November 14, a new era of women’s empowerment will begin in Bihar.”
### Modi’s Strategic Mantra for BJP Cadres
Outlining a comprehensive action plan, PM Modi provided clear directives to energize the party’s ground game:
– **Youth Teams Formation**: “Form teams of youth between 18 to 30 years. Divide them into groups of 10-10. Tell people about our schemes. Expose the lies that Mahagathbandhan people are saying. Tell people about their fake schemes.”
– **Door-to-Door Campaigning**: “Take out the voter list of your respective booths. Take it and go to every house. Motivate people to vote. Tell them vote first then refreshments.”
– **Engaging Beneficiaries**: “Meet as many beneficiaries as possible. Record their videos. Show these videos to people. If possible, transfer these videos to their mobiles. There are 4-5 people in the family. Everyone will watch the video together. They will know about the schemes.”
– **Booth-Centric Victory**: “If you win the booth, consider the assembly won. The entire effort will be to win the booth… Elections are not fought by leaders. Workers fight. As you win booths, you win assemblies.”
– **Festival-Driven Outreach**: “Turn festivals into festival of democracy. Many festivals are coming now. Meet as many people as possible, tell women about schemes related to them. Tell about GST. Keep meeting voters.”
This address comes hours after the Mahagathbandhan named RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial face, intensifying the electoral rhetoric. The NDA, buoyed by Modi’s blitz, is countering with a high-octane campaign featuring Home Minister Amit Shah’s multi-day tour and the PM’s upcoming rallies.
### Bihar Polls: A High-Stakes Battle
Bihar’s 243 assembly seats will go to polls in two phases on November 6 and 11, just eight days after Chhath Puja, with results declared on November 14 – marking a swift 40-day election process, the shortest in four decades. The first phase covers 121 seats, while the second includes 122 constituencies along the border areas.
With 7.42 crore voters – including 14,000 centenarians and 14 lakh first-timers – the electorate holds immense sway. Special provisions include home voting via Form 12D for the differently-abled and permission to carry mobiles to polling booths. A total of 90,712 polling centers have been set up (76,801 rural, 13,911 urban), averaging 818 voters per station, with 100% webcasting and 1,350 model centers for enhanced facilities.
As accusations of “fake schemes” fly from the NDA camp, the stage is set for a fiercely contested battle between development promises and opposition unity. For BJP workers, Modi’s call to arms is clear: booth-level mobilization is the key to retaining power and burying the ghosts of Jungle Raj once and for all.
