Teacher Arrested for Secretly Marrying Minor Class 10 Student in Ghatkesar
Physics teacher accused of sexual harassment and deceitful marriage with underage girl; booked under POCSO Act
Hyderabad, February 10, 2026: In a shocking case of alleged exploitation, a 27-year-old private school physics teacher identified as Parre Myteen (also reported as P. Mayteen) has been arrested by the IT Pocharam police in Medchal district for secretly “marrying” a minor Class 10 student.
The incident, which occurred under the Pocharam IT Corridor police station limits near Ghatkesar, came to light earlier this month when the girl returned home wearing a mangalsutra. Upon questioning by her mother on January 3, the student revealed that her teacher had “married” her on January 1 without informing anyone. Police investigations indicate the teacher had allegedly sexually harassed the girl over a period of time and deceived her into the marriage.
The girl’s parents initially approached the school principal, who reportedly declined to intervene, stating the matter occurred outside school premises and did not concern the management. This prompted the family to file a police complaint.
A case has been registered against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Following the complaint, police arrested Parre Myteen and produced him before a court, where he was remanded to judicial custody.
Student organisations have demanded strict action against the school management for their alleged failure to respond appropriately to the serious matter.
Authorities continue to investigate the case, with emphasis on the grooming and exploitation aspects involved.
