Haryana CM Announces Multi-Crore Development Package for Gohana
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini unveils a sweeping bundle of infrastructure, healthcare, education and sports projects for the Gohana Assembly constituency at a public rally
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday announced a slew of development projects worth crores of rupees for the Gohana Assembly constituency, covering everything from a new sports stadium and a cardiac care facility to road upgrades and water supply pipelines.
Addressing a packed gathering at the Dhanyavaad Evam Vikas Rally in Gohana, Saini pledged the construction of a sports stadium, and announced plans to develop Bhagwan Parshuram Virasat Park alongside a jogging track over Drain No. 8. A multi-storey parking complex with commercial space is also on the cards, to be built on a public-private partnership basis subject to land availability.
On the healthcare front, the Chief Minister announced the establishment of a Cardiac Cath Lab at Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College, Khanpur Kalan, also on a PPP model. He added that a Physiotherapy College at the same institution would begin admissions from the 2027–28 academic session once its building is complete.
In a significant administrative move, Saini announced the upgrade of Khanpur Kalan from a sub-tehsil to a full tehsil, and said new sub-tehsils would be created in Baroda and Farmana following the completion of census, delimitation and Special Intensive Revision work.
The rally, organised by Cooperation and Tourism Minister Dr Arvind Sharma, also saw announcements of a new 33 KV power substation on Meham Road, upgradation of an existing substation in Khanpur Kalan, and a tourism resort in Gohana, contingent on the local gram panchayat providing two acres of land.
Water infrastructure received major attention, with the Chief Minister earmarking Rs 8 crore for canal-based water works in Mahipur-Kavredi, Rs 5.5 crore for drinking water and sewer pipelines in Khanpur Kalan, and Rs 12.50 crore for water supply lines across several villages including Sarkathal, Badota and Dodhawa Ratangarh.
For road connectivity, Saini announced Rs 6.90 crore for repair of seven PWD roads, and said requests would be sent to the Ministry of Railways for a Road Under Bridge on Gohana-Baroda Road and a Road Over Bridge on Gohana-Meham Road. An additional Rs 5 crore was set aside for village-level development across the constituency.
Two villages — Garhi Ujalekhan and Garhi Namdarkhan — are set to be renamed Krishan Nagar and Sundar Nagar respectively, pending formal proposals from their gram panchayats.
Senior BJP leaders including State President Mohan Lal Kaushik, and Ministers Krishan Lal Panwar and Dr Arvind Sharma were present at the event.
