HARYANA POLICE SHAKE-UP: Govt Orders Mass Transfer of 29 IPS and HPS Officers
In a sweeping reshuffle effective immediately, the Haryana Home Department has reshuffled senior police officers across key districts and units — from Gurugram to Fatehabad — in one of the state’s largest single-day IPS transfers of 2026.

The Haryana Government on Wednesday ordered the immediate posting and transfer of 29 Indian Police Service (IPS) and Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers across the state, in a sweeping reshuffle that touches nearly every major district and specialised unit.
The order, signed by Sudhir Rajpal, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Haryana, Home Department, and dated April 2, 2026, was issued under Endst No. 03/08/2020-2HG1.
Key Transfers at a Glance
Among the most significant moves, Sh. Rajesh Kumar, IPS (HY: 2014), who was serving as SP/Nuh, has been posted as SP/State Crime Branch (SCB). Replacing him at Nuh is Dr. Arpit Jain, IPS (HY: 2014), previously DCP/Headquarters, Gurugram.
Sh. Surinder Boharia, IPS (HY: 2014), former SP/Rohtak, moves to SP/Law & Order, PHQ, while Sh. Shashank Kumar Sawan, IPS (HY: 2015), previously SP/Hisar, is elevated to AIG/Administration, PHQ, relieving him of his prior charge.
In the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Sh. Maqsood Ahmed, IPS (HY: 2016), returning from leave, has been posted as SP/SV & ACB (H). Sh. Nitish Aggarwal, IPS (HY: 2017), formerly ADC to the Governor, takes charge as SP/Palwal, while Sh. Varun Singla, IPS (HY: 2017), the outgoing SP/Palwal, moves to SP Security, CID, against a vacant post.
Women Officers in Prominent Postings
The reshuffle also sees several women IPS officers taking up significant new charges. Smt. Pooja Vashisth, IPS (HY: 2018) moves from SP/Narnaul to SP/SV & ACB (H), while Ms. Jasleen Kaur, IPS (HY: 2018) shifts from DCP/Jhajjar to SP/Dabwali. Ms. Medha Bhushan, IPS (HY: 2018), previously at SV & ACB, takes over as DCP/Sonipat.
Ms. Deepti Garg, IPS (HY: 2020), moves from Commandant, 4th Battalion IRB Manesar, to DCP/Jhajjar, while Ms. Prabina P., IPS (HY: 2020), takes charge as DCP Manesar with additional charge of Commandant, 4th IRB, Manesar, Gurugram.
Among the younger batch, Ms. Sonakshi Singh, IPS (HY: 2021) moves from Addl. SP/Jind to DCP/Sonipat, and Ms. Uttam, IPS (HY: 2022), previously Addl. SP/Hisar, is posted as DCP/NIT, Faridabad.
Gurugram Zone Sees Multiple Changes
The Gurugram commissionerate witnesses multiple changes. Sh. Gaurav Rajpurohit, IPS (HY: 2018) moves from DCP East, Gurugram to SP/Rohtak, while Sh. Deepak Jewaria, IPS (HY: 2019), outgoing DCP/Manesar, is posted to SP/Narnaul. Sh. Pratik Aggarwal, IPS (HY: 2022), takes charge as DCP/Ballabhgarh against a vacant post.
HPS Officers Also Reshuffled
On the HPS side, Sh. Siddharth Dhanda moves from SP/L&O, PHQ to SP/Telecom, Haryana, Panchkula with additional charge of SP/ERSS (Emergency Response Support System), Panchkula — on transfer of Sh. Chander Mohan, IPS. Sh. Sandeep Kumar, HPS, former SP/State Crime Branch, is posted as DCP/East, Gurugram, while Ms. Dhaarna Yadav, HPS, moves from SP/SCB to DCP/Jhajjar.
The order has been forwarded to the Director General of Police, Haryana; DGP/Anti-Corruption Bureau; ADGP/Crime; ADGP/CID; and the Ministry of Home Affairs, among other authorities.
All transfers take effect immediately.
