From multi-speciality hospitals and multi-level parking to an entertainment city and RRTS connectivity, Saini lays out an ambitious roadmap for Faridabad’s transformation

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini descended on Faridabad on Saturday with a slew of major announcements, using the ‘Dhanyavaad Evam Viksit Faridabad Rally’ to lay the foundation stones of four development projects worth ₹120.76 crore while outlining a sweeping vision for the city’s future.

Foundation Stones and Fresh Funds

The four projects inaugurated include a rest house worth ₹50.61 crore, a dispensary-cum-CMO office at ₹41.70 crore, sewerage line works costing ₹25 crore, and a school building in Old Faridabad at ₹3.45 crore. The CM also announced an additional grant of ₹5 crore for development works in the city.

Ganga Water for Faridabad

Citing persistent groundwater quality concerns, Saini announced plans to explore bringing fresh drinking water from the Upper Ganga Canal to Faridabad, for which the state government will coordinate with the Uttar Pradesh government. He also announced that rainwater harvesting systems will be installed across 50 community centres and parks in the first phase, with all government buildings to follow.

Hospital, Parking, Nature Park and More

Among the headline announcements was a multi-speciality hospital to be set up in Sector 8 under the PPP model, and plans to upgrade the Sector 12 swimming pool into an all-weather, internationally compliant facility, also under PPP. A large banquet hall will be built above a multi-level parking complex on approximately 3 acres of HSVP land near the Labour Court, while a nature park will come up in Greater Faridabad under the Divya Nagar scheme at a cost of around ₹10 crore. The CM also confirmed that state land will be provided for a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Greater Faridabad.

Entertainment City and RRTS Boost

IMT Sector 66 is to be redeveloped as a commercial and entertainment hub, featuring cinema halls, hotels, and multiplexes. Saini also pointed to the recently approved Delhi–Gurugram–Faridabad–Noida RRTS/Namo Bharat corridor as a game-changer for the city’s economic connectivity, with Cabinet Minister Vipul Goel adding that the corridor could reduce travel time to the upcoming Jewar Airport from two hours to just 30 minutes.

Promises and Progress

Saini told the rally that of 44 CM announcements made for the region over the past 11.5 years, 24 have been completed. He also cited 60 fulfilled manifesto commitments out of 217 within one and a half years in office, and referenced welfare schemes ranging from ₹500 LPG cylinders and Ayushman Bharat coverage to free dialysis and government jobs without “parchi-kharchi.”

He also sought to quell concerns around fuel availability, stating that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG across the state’s 4,032 fuel stations and gas agencies, and urged citizens not to heed rumours.

Haryana Steps Up HIV/AIDS Fight

In a separate development, the 23rd Executive Committee Meeting of the Haryana State AIDS Control Society approved a ₹47.16 crore Annual Action Plan for 2026-27 and greenlit a second HIV Viral Load Laboratory to be made operational at Panchkula within a month. Currently, the lone lab at PGIMS Rohtak serves 17 districts. The meeting also approved simultaneous HIV and Syphilis testing for spouses of all antenatal care women — a move expected to require around 12 lakh dual tests annually — as part of the state’s push to eliminate vertical transmission of both diseases. Four new CD4 diagnostic machines have been installed at Kaithal, Hisar, Panipat, and Faridabad. The state has committed to achieving the 95-95-99 global HIV targets.
