India’s First UK-Accredited Sports Life Skills Framework Set for Haryana Schools
HIPSA achieves CPD UK accreditation for groundbreaking educational framework; Power Sportz to implement pilot programme across Classes 6-12 in alignment with NEP 2020
GURUGRAM/HARYANA — The Holistic International Pravasi Sports Association (HIPSA) has achieved a significant milestone by becoming India’s first organisation to receive CPD (Continuing Professional Development) UK accreditation for a structured Sports Life Skills Framework designed specifically for school education. The framework will be piloted in select Haryana schools with Power Sportz serving as the academic and implementation partner.
This landmark achievement establishes a globally benchmarked, professionally accredited framework that integrates life skills learning directly through sports, marking a transformative shift in how India approaches sports education at the school level.
The CPD-accredited Sports Life Skills Framework, conceptualised by HIPSA and academically designed and delivered by Power Sportz, has been carefully crafted to align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. A key feature of the framework is its practical implementation model, which allows it to be delivered within regular Physical Education periods without adding curriculum load, examinations, or requiring timetable changes for schools.
The framework has received formal accreditation from The CPD Group, United Kingdom, a globally recognised professional body with recognition spanning more than 100 countries. This CPD accreditation confirms that the Sports Life Skills Framework meets rigorous international benchmarks for structured learning and professional development, bringing Indian school sports education in line with global standards.
As India positions itself to host major international sporting events in the coming years, including the Commonwealth Games and the Olympic Games, there is heightened national focus on building a sports-literate, values-driven youth ecosystem. The HIPSA and Power Sportz collaboration directly supports this vision through a multi-pronged approach.
The framework aims to strengthen grassroots sports culture across schools, develop life-ready students through sport-based learning methodologies, and create professional development pathways for Physical Education teachers who will serve as the primary implementers of the programme.
The pilot rollout will begin in carefully chosen schools across Haryana, covering students from Classes 6 to 12. Power Sportz will work closely with school leadership teams and Physical Education teachers to ensure smooth implementation and delivery of the accredited curriculum.
Speaking about the initiative’s broader vision, Ms Kanthi D Suresh, President of HIPSA, stated that following the Haryana pilot, the organisation plans to expand the framework to other states across India. She emphasized that this expansion would support a national movement placing sport at the centre of holistic education and life skills development.
The framework represents a departure from traditional sports education models by focusing not merely on physical fitness or competitive achievement, but on using sports as a vehicle for developing essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, resilience, decision-making, and emotional intelligence among young students.
For Haryana, the pilot programme presents an opportunity to lead India’s sports education transformation. The state has been actively promoting sports development initiatives in recent years, and this internationally accredited framework adds another dimension to its educational ecosystem.
The Holistic International Pravasi Sports Association has been committed to advancing sports education, life skills, and holistic development through globally aligned frameworks and institutional partnerships. The organisation recently gained attention for successfully getting the sport of Kabaddi entered into the Guinness Book of World Records, further demonstrating its commitment to promoting indigenous and international sports culture.
Power Sportz, as the academic and implementation partner, brings expertise in sports education delivery systems and will be responsible for ensuring that the framework’s accredited standards are maintained throughout the pilot phase and subsequent expansion.
The initiative comes at a crucial time when education policymakers and sports administrators are seeking innovative ways to integrate sports more meaningfully into mainstream education. The CPD UK accreditation provides both credibility and a quality assurance mechanism that ensures the framework delivers on its educational objectives.
As the pilot programme prepares for launch in Haryana schools, education sector observers will be watching closely to assess its impact on student development and its potential for nationwide scaling. If successful, the model could serve as a template for other states looking to enhance their sports education infrastructure while meeting NEP 2020 objectives.
The convergence of international accreditation standards, alignment with national education policy, and practical implementation design positions this framework as a potentially game-changing intervention in India’s school education landscape.
