PowerXchange App Named Finalist in India Energy Stack Initiative; Launches Interstate P2P Energy Trading on February 18
Only two platforms selected nationwide for the landmark initiative; PowerXchange’s live demo presented before PM Narendra Modi
New Delhi, February 18, 2026: PowerXchange App has been selected as one of just two platforms across India to be named a finalist under the India Energy Stack initiative for peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading — marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital energy transformation.
The platform received national attention on February 16, when a live demonstration was conducted before Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, which brought together global AI leaders and representatives from multiple countries. The demo showcased how farmers and electricity consumers can directly trade surplus power and generate additional income — a development being hailed as a historic step toward democratising India’s energy market.
PowerXchange’s selection is further reinforced by Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), which has chosen the platform to develop a P2P energy trading technology system and register consumers and prosumers for trading surplus solar energy.
The company says its mission is to make every household energy self-sufficient while helping scale the government’s solar schemes to the grassroots level. The official launch of interstate P2P energy trading took place today, February 18, 2026, signalling the beginning of a new model for energy commerce in India.
The AI Impact Expo, inaugurated by PM Modi at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, continues until February 20.
