Rape, Blackmail & Forced Conversion: FIR Registered in Haryana’s Nuh Against Two Brothers and Father

Woman from West Bengal alleges accused lured her with promise of marriage, filmed her without consent, and pressured her to change religion over six months

A woman has filed a complaint with the Nuh city police station alleging that she was raped under the false pretext of marriage, blackmailed with objectionable videos, physically assaulted, extorted of money, and pressured to convert her religion. Based on her complaint, Nuh Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

According to a police spokesperson, the complainant alleged that the accused youth developed physical relations with her against her will by promising to marry her. The accused allegedly recorded objectionable videos of her and used them to blackmail her into complying with his demands, including pressure to convert her religion. The victim also alleged that the accused physically assaulted her and extorted money from her on multiple occasions.

The victim is originally a resident of West Bengal. The FIR has been registered against two brothers and their father in connection with the case.

The offences allegedly took place between September last year and March 2026. The FIR invokes the Haryana Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2022, along with relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), covering rape, assault, blackmail, and attempt to forcibly convert religion.

A Nuh Police spokesperson stated that the matter is being investigated keeping all angles in view, and further action will be taken as per law on the basis of evidence gathered.
