Cricket Star Hands Over Property Management to Brother Vikas Kohli Amid Permanent Move to England

Gurugram, October 15, 2025: Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli has transferred the power of attorney (PoA) for his Gurugram properties to his elder brother, Vikas Kohli. The legal formalities were completed on Tuesday at the Wazirabad Tehsil office in Gurugram, where Kohli executed the General Power of Attorney, entrusting Vikas with the management of his real estate assets in the city. The properties include a luxurious house in DLF City Phase-1, Block C, purchased in 2021, and an apartment in the same area.

Kohli, who now primarily resides in London with his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, and their two children, Vamika and Akaay, made the decision to delegate property-related responsibilities due to his limited time in India. Sources indicate that his mother, Saroj Kohli, who previously lived with Vikas in Gurugram, will also join the family in England. While Kohli has not officially confirmed a permanent move to London, his actions suggest a long-term shift, with the PoA ensuring seamless management of his Indian assets.

During his brief visit to the tehsil office, which lasted about an hour, Kohli interacted warmly with staff, posing for photos and signing autographs. Shortly after, he departed for Delhi Airport to join the Indian cricket team for their upcoming Australia tour.

Kohli’s financial portfolio remains robust, with an estimated net worth of ₹1,050 crore ($125 million) in 2025. His wealth stems from cricket earnings, a ₹15 crore IPL contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore, lucrative brand endorsements with companies like Puma and Audi, and business ventures such as Wrogn and One8. Additionally, Kohli supports charitable initiatives through the Virat Kohli Foundation, which provides sports scholarships.

In a separate development, Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket on May 12, 2025, after a 14-year career, though he continues to play One-Day Internationals. His legacy as one of cricket’s finest batters endures, alongside his growing influence off the field.
