Visit from Oct 6-8 to spotlight state as investor hub, with meets at World Expo and key Japanese firms

Chandigarh, October 5, 2025 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is set to jet off to Japan tomorrow for a three-day official trip, focusing on bolstering economic, industrial, and cultural bonds between the state and the Asian powerhouse. Arriving in Tokyo on October 6, Saini aims to lure fresh investments, foster tech collaborations, and position Haryana as a prime spot for Japanese businesses eyeing India’s growth corridors.

Kicking off in the Japanese capital, Saini’s itinerary includes high-stakes talks with top officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. He will engage with State Minister Takuma from Foreign Affairs and State Minister Koga Yuichiro from Economy, Trade and Industry, zeroing in on trade expansion, investment inflows, and knowledge-sharing in cutting-edge sectors.

The afternoon brings a packed schedule at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, where Saini will connect with executives from JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) and heavyweights like AISIN, Air Water, TASI, NAMBU, DENSO, SOJITZ, Nissin Foods, Kawakin Holdings, Sumitomo Corporation, and Toppan. Discussions will highlight Haryana’s burgeoning opportunities in manufacturing and infrastructure. A sit-down with the Governor of Shimane Prefecture rounds out the formal agenda, followed by a cultural highlight: the Gita Mahotsav event celebrating the Bhagavad Gita’s global resonance.

Day two shifts to Osaka aboard the iconic Shinkansen bullet train, where Saini will grace the World Expo 2025. He is slated to unveil the Haryana Pavilion, mingling with Japanese mayors and industry titans. Key rendezvous include leaders from Kyocera, Minebea Mitsumi, Mitsui Kinzoku Components, Horiba Ltd., and the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan—pivotal players in electronics and auto components. The evening caps with an investment seminar, pitching Haryana’s robust policy framework and logistics edge to potential partners.

Wrapping up on October 8, Saini will tour the Kubota facility in Osaka for insights into advanced production techniques and meet Suzuki’s top brass. A final courtesy call on the Osaka Prefecture Governor precedes his return flight, with Industries Minister-led delegates extending the mission.

In remarks ahead of the tour, Saini underscored Haryana’s appeal: “Dozens of Japanese firms already thrive here, and our recent budget pledge for 10 new Industrial Model Townships signals our commitment. Under PM Modi’s vision, Haryana has evolved into an industrial powerhouse over the last decade.” He teased one-on-one investor huddles, noting surging interest in the state’s pro-business climate.

This outreach builds on existing synergies—Japan’s footprint in Haryana spans auto giants like Honda and Maruti Suzuki—while aligning with India’s ‘Make in India’ thrust. As global supply chains realign, Saini’s mission could unlock billions in FDI, experts say, fortifying bilateral ties amid post-pandemic recovery.
