Party alleges Congress leader’s rhetoric is dividing the nation and inciting civil conflict

New Delhi — The Bharatiya Janata Party has launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that his recent statements and political campaign are designed to instigate a “greh yudh” (civil war) in the country.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters on Friday, party spokesperson, Sambit Patra accused Gandhi of deliberately stoking communal and caste-based tensions through his public speeches and social media posts. The BJP claimed that the Congress leader’s divisive language threatens to tear the social fabric of the nation.

“Rahul Gandhi’s continuous attempts to pit one community against another, his dangerous rhetoric about caste surveys, and his inflammatory statements are all part of a calculated strategy to create chaos in the country,” the BJP spokesperson said. “He wants to push India toward a greh yudh for his own political gains.”

The allegations come amid an intensifying war of words between the two major political parties ahead of upcoming state elections. The BJP pointed to Gandhi’s recent rally speeches, where he has been vocal about issues of caste census and socio-economic inequalities, claiming these are being weaponized to divide communities.

The Congress party swiftly rejected the allegations, calling them baseless and diversionary tactics. A Congress spokesperson stated that Gandhi has consistently raised issues of social justice and constitutional rights, which the ruling party finds uncomfortable.

“The BJP is nervous because Rahul Gandhi is raising the real issues facing the country—unemployment, inflation, and social inequality. Instead of answering these questions, they resort to such absurd allegations,” the Congress response stated.

Political analysts suggest the escalating rhetoric reflects the heightened polarization in Indian politics, with both parties attempting to consolidate their respective vote banks through aggressive messaging strategies.

The BJP has called upon the Election Commission to take cognizance of what it terms as Gandhi’s “dangerous and divisive” speeches, while the Congress has dismissed the complaint as politically motivated.
